Paul J. Hadzick, 31 Eurana Ave., Weatherly, a Republican, will be sworn in next month to assume the duties of Carbon County Magisterial District 3-4, which includes the boroughs of Beaver Meadows, Weatherly and East Side and the townships of Banks, Packer, Lehigh and Lausanne.

Hadzick will succeed Andrew Moisey of Tresckow, who retired from the position last July.

The new magistrate’s appointment was confirmed yesterday by the state Senate, following his nomination by Gov. Dick Thornburgh’s nomination.

Hadzick has served on the Weatherly Area School Board and Weatherly Borough Council.
