The Panther Valley Irish-American Association announced today Donald “Donny” Jones of Lansford will be the recipient of the 59th Annual Shamrock Award during St. Patrick’s Day festivities to be held in that community.

Jones, a retired postman in Lansford for over 40 years, will be recognized for his longtime commitment to community endeavors, including St. Ann’s Catholic Church, American Legion Post 123 and the Elks Lodge, all of Lansford, and the Lansford Little League, as well as his military service in the U.S. Army (1966-69).
