One driver hurt in intersection collision

State police at Fern Ridge reported on crashes:

• Jeremiah Santosus, 72, of Albrightsville, was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:40 p.m. Feb. 11 at the intersection of Jonas Road and Birch Hollow Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was treated at the scene by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance and refused medical treatment.

Police said the collision happened when a 2005 Mercedes-Benz operated by Claudio Delacourt, 51, of Effort, was eastbound on Jonas Road and making a left turn onto Birch Hollow Drive when it was struck by a 2011 Nissan Sentra operated by Santosus. The latter was westbound on the Jonas Road at the time.

Police said the Nissan was towed from the scene while Delacourt was able to drive the Mercedes from the scene. He was uninjured.

Delacourt was cited for the crash.

• A hit-and-run incident occurred at 9:54 p.m. Feb. 10 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.

Police said a vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic when changing lanes and was struck by a 2022 Subaru Legacy operated by Jon Emmett, 48, of Wilkes-Barre. Police said the driver of the vehicle that was struck left the scene, traveling eastbound on the interstate.
