State police at the Frackville barracks said an older, four-door red Dodge truck struck the rear of a 2021 Toyota 4-Runner at 1:42 p.m. Feb. 4 on Interstate 81 in Kline Township. The driver fled the scene.

Police said Ryan S. Lentz, 30, of Katomnah, New York, was southbound when his SUV was struck from behind, causing it to spin on the shoulder of the road. Police said the driver of the striking vehicle pulled over briefly and then fled in the direction of McAdoo.

Police said Lentz and a passenger, Shaina M. Vernbonitz, 31, of Drums, were uninjured.
