The Panther Valley and Weatherly girls’ basketball teams recorded victories on Saturday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Panther Valley-Kutztown

Panther Valley closed out its season with a 49-38 nonleague win over Kutztown.

Maddison Maynard led a trio of Panthers (2-20) in double figures with 16 points, while Sera Robin followed with a 14-point performance. Kadence Krapf added a season-high 10 points.

Raegan Loeb finished with 11 points for the Cougars.

Weatherly capped its regular season with a 44-23 nonleague victory over MMI Prep.

Bethany Houser sparked the Wreckers (6-16) with a game-high 19 points, scoring nine in the opening quarter.

Emma Kane chipped in on the great start by scoring six of her 15 points in the first eight minutes.

Bria Kringe paced the Preppers (0-18) with 12 points.

Brook Kopinetz led Minersville with a game-high 26 points.

Kutztown-Panther Valley

Panther Valley couldn’t recover from a slow start, as Kutztown made the most of a 20-point opening quarter to hold on for a 51-44 nonleague win.

Bradley Hood posted a game-high 26 points for the Panthers (12-10), with 16 coming in the second half. Eugene Turner added six of his eight points after the intermission.

Xavier Goodman and Braedyn Schuler both scored 14 points for the Cougars.

Chase Weaver’s buzzer-beater gave Panther Valley a 47-44 Schuylkill League victory over Lehighton on Friday.

Weaver and Bradley Hood led the Panthers with 11 points apiece. Eugene Turner added 10 points.

Tyler Rehrig hit five three-pointers and finished with 15 points to lead Lehighton. Mason Costenbader added 13.

Lehighton ends its season at 4-18 overall, and 1-13 in the league.

Jacob Tom paced the Wreckers with 16 points, while Niko Saldukas contributed eight.

Weatherly-Lehighton

Weatherly rolled to a 36-16 victory over Lehighton.

The Wreckers’ Aiden Buck had a game-high 14 points.

Tom Blair paced the Indians with five points.
