Ordinances were adopted by Lansford, Summit Hill and Coaldale borough officials last night to organize a joint sewage authority between the three boroughs for the purposes of constructing a sewage treatment plant.

The authority, to be known as the Coaldale-Lansford-Summit Hill Sewer Authority, was decided on at separate meetings of the three borough councils.

The authority must be organized before Feb. 16 in order to qualify for a $700,000 federal grant toward the cost of the estimated $1.6 million project.
