Pocono Garden Club moves luncheon site

The Pocono Garden Club is moving its Feb. 8 luncheon meeting to noon at the Shawnee Ridge Community Room, 200 Jersey Lane, off Route 447 in East Stroudsburg.

The luncheon was originally scheduled for the Monroe County Conservation District in Bartonsville where the group ordinarily meets. The change was made due to COVID restrictions.

Members should bring a covered dish, a place setting, cup and mask.

The program, to be led by longtime member Dolores Ragin, will be on gardening tips and seed starting, and members should bring a clean empty egg carton and seeds.

Participation is encouraged in the monthly design exhibit, titled “My Funny Valentine.”

A vertical design, the arrangement should feature colors of red and pink.

Fresh flowers are preferred, though silk and dried flowers are acceptable. Accessories are permitted.

The horticultural entry would be a broadleaf or needle stem (boxwood, Laurel, pine, spruce) not to exceed 16 inches in a clear container.
