Pleasant Valley’s girls basketball team scored an overtime victory Tuesday, while Palmerton remained undefeated.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Palmerton-So. Lehigh
Palmerton posted a 56-44 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.
Bethie Morgan led the Palmerton scoring with 17 points. Brianna Moore and Raegen Nemeth each collected 14 points.
Megan Matsko had eight points for the Bombers, while Sydney Frantz also scored three points.
Palmerton remains undefeated on the season at 16-0.

Pleasant Valley pulled out a 45-42 overtime victory against East Stroudsburg North in an Eastern Pennsylvania Conference matchup.
The teams were tied at 38 at the end of regulation, but three field goals and a free-throw in overtime sealed the win for the Bears.
Aryn Stivala led Pleasant Valley with 24 points in the contest. Drew Morgan added nine points, while Kelly Williams tallied eight and Katelyn Honadel four.
Pleasant Valley is now at .500 with an 8-8 record.

Hailey Miller’s 24-point performance sparked Lehighton to a 51-26 nonleague win over Salisbury.
Miller posted 12 of her game-high points in the Indians’ 18-point second quarter, while Taylor Bowman scored eight of her 10 in the visitors’ 20-point third period.
Ava Smarch and Hannah Kamp both finished with six points for the Falcons (3-15).
Lehighton is now 7-7.

Northwestern pushed its winning streak to 11 games behind a commanding 45-14 Colonial League victory over Palisades.
The Tigers (16-3, 14-1) opened with a 25-point first quarter, and only allowed a single bucket to the Pirates (2-12 overall; 1-10 CL).
Cara Thomas netted a game-high 17 points for Northwestern, scoring eight in the opening quarter.
Paige Sevrain added 14 points, with 11 of coming in the first eight minutes.

Northern Lehigh ended a 10-game losing streak by pulling out a 47-46 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.
Nick Frame scored six of his game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter to help the Bulldogs hold off the Rough Riders.
The winners also received 14 points from Izaiah Ramos, while Aiden Parvel contributed 12.
Matt Fotta paced Catty with a team-high 12 points.
Nolehi improved to 3-14 overall, and 2-11 in the league.

Brendan Lonergan poured in a game-high 22 points to propel Marian to a 65-52 Schuylkill League victory over Lourdes.
Frank Valente tallied seven of his 13 points in the third quarter as the Colts used a 19-10 third quarter to extend a five-point halftime lead.
Jose Espaillat-Turbi added 12 points, while Julius Currie chipped in with nine. Lonergan also collected nine rebounds.
The Red Raiders received a team-high 19 points from Tyler Novak.
The win lifts Marian to 8-4 overall, and 4-2 in the league.

Gavin Nelson scored a career-high 23 points to power Northwestern to a 75-62 Colonial League victory over Palisades.
Nelson, whose previous high was 12 points, tallied seven in the second quarter as the Tigers offset an early deficit to take a halftime lead.
Ethan Lazarus contributed 14 points to the win, while Cade Christopher tossed in 12. Northwestern, which improved to 9-9 overall and 9-6 in the league, also received 11 from Cayden Fitch and 10 from Dylan Witkowski.
For the Pirates, Liam Carey posted a game-high 25 points.

Lehighton gained its first Schuylkill League victory of the season by holding off Pine Grove, 45-39.
Jack Lorenz scored 14 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to help the Indians improve to 4-13 overall, and 1-8 in the league.
Mason Costenbader tallied all nine of his points in the opening half as Lehighton gained a four-point halftime advantage. Brayden Lutz and Tyler Rehrig both chipped in with seven points.
For the Cardinals, Brandon Unger finished with a team-high 13 points.

Max Pristas scored eight of his 17 points in the first quarter as the Spartans raced to a 22-7 advantage.
Dominik Lisicky also finished with 17 points for Solehi, which remained undefeated in league play at 15-0.
The Blue Bombers (13-5; 10-5) received a team-high 14 points from Matt Machalik, while Brayden Hosier added nine.
The loss ended Palmerton’s four-game winning streak.

Donald Francois scored eight of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as the Bears (3-11; 3-9) cut an 11-point deficit to just three by game’s end.

Pottsville swept Tamaqua in Schuylkill League action.
The hosts edged the Blue Raiders 78-74 on the boys’ side, while the Tide swam away with a 118-62 victory in the girls’ meet.
Jathan Krall had wins in both the 200 and 500 freestyle events for Tamaqua.
Brandon Long (100 back) and Mia Jones (diving) also scored event wins.
