The Rev. Dr. Charles R. Zweizig, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ, Allentown, was the main speaker for the 50th anniversary observance of Dinkey Memorial Church, Ashfield, yesterday.
Speaking before about 400 people, he spoke of the church society and its place in the world. “The Dinkey building has stood half a century, a lengthy period in any man’s life, but the church itself dates all the way back to Christ,” he said.
The Rev. Edwin L. Werner, pastor, gave a historical account of the life of Emma Eurana Dinkey, after whom the Ashfield church was named.
Special music for the event was directed by Mrs. Kuther Nansteel while Mrs. Edith Fogel was the organist.
