Farmland Industries Inc., Lancaster, has submitted a new offer to the Carbon County Redevelopment Authority for a section of the cleared area along Susquehanna Street in Jim Thorpe.
William G. Weisser, real estate representative for the firm which operated a chain of Turkey Hill Minit Marts, one of which is located in Nesquehoning, has corresponded with the authority, offering to pay $37,000 for 200 front feet close to the Queen Beverage Company structure at the southern terminus of that borough thoroughfare.
The Turkey Hill firm earlier made an offer of $33,000 for 210 front feet at a point, near midway along the street, where the greatest depth exists.
