A Slatington driver is facing charges in Berks County following a one-vehicle crash.

State police at Reading said the crash occurred at 3:09 a.m. on Saturday along Route 100 in Washington Township. Troopers said Jeniffer L. Richardson, 39, was driving a 2000 Mercedes-Benz E500 southbound just past the intersection with Stauffer Road when she lost control.

The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, left the road and went into a ditch and then struck a tree.

Richardson fled the scene prior to the arrival of troopers. The vehicle had to be towed.

Troopers said Richardson will be cited for motor vehicle code offenses.
