Mahoning Township has a new zoning officer.

On a 3-0 vote at a special meeting Tuesday afternoon, supervisors appointed Paul Jarrett - Lehigh Valley Inspection Service to the position.

Board Chairman Robert Slaw and Supervisor Myron “Zeke” Blahy were absent.

Former zoning officer Carl Faust recently resigned from the position.

Township secretary Natalie Haggerty said Faust will be sorely missed.

“Carl’s been here since I’ve been here,” Haggerty said. “He’s been very instrumental with zoning.”

Jarrett also serves as zoning officer in neighboring Franklin Township.
