Palmerton’s Brianna Moore reached 1,000 career points as the Blue Bombers rolled past Catasauqua on Tuesday.
The Bomber boys also defeated Catty, while the Jim Thorpe girls - like the Palmerton girls - remained undefeated with a victory over Pine Grove.
Other winners included the Lehighton and Northwestern girls.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Catasauqua-Palmerton
Brianna Moore scored a game-high 27 points - including the 1,000th of her career - as Palmerton rolled to a 59-27 Colonial League victory over Catasauqua.
Moore hit a 10-foot jumper in the third quarter to become the 11th girls player in school history to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
The Blue Bombers, behind 12 points from Moore, used a 21-6 second quarter to turn a six-point lead into a 21-point halftime margin.
Bethie Morgan contributed 12 points to the win, while Raegan Nemeth chipped in with eight. The Roughies were led by Delaney Troxell’s 10 points.
Palmerton stayed undefeated at 7-0, while Catasauqua dropped to 3-5.

Lehighton used a huge fourth quarter to erase a deficit and gain a 47-35 Schuylkill League victory over Tamaqua.
Hailey Miller scored seven of her game-high 15 points in the final frame, while Taylor Bowman tallied six as the Indians outscored the Blue Raiders by a 20-5 margin.
Aaliyah Fisher finished with 12 points for the winners, who improved to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the league, while Bowman ended the contest with 11.
For Tamaqua (3-4; 0-3), Trenyce Wingler posted a team-high eight points.

Jim Thorpe improved to 6-0 by holding off Pine Grove for a 52-42 Schuylkill League victory.
Leading by just three points at the half, Leila Hurley scored nine of her team-high 19 points in the third quarter as the Olympians outscored the Cardinals 24-13 to gain a double-digit advantage.
Olivia Smelas added eight points in the third frame as Thorpe upped its league mark to 3-0.
Smelas finished with 15 points, while Skyler Searfoss tallied 10. Pine Grove’s Mikaili Donmoyer led all scorers with 20 points.

Nine different players reached the scoring column as Northwestern cruised to a 63-26 Colonial League victory over Salisbury.
Paige Sevrain tallied six of her 14 points in the opening quarter as the Tigers jumped out to a 23-9 lead.
Cara Thomas also finished with 14 points for Northwestern, who improved to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in the league. The winners also received eight points from both Maci Fisher and Brook Balliet.
For the Falcons, Quinn Wittman and Desiree Niles both had eight points.

Marian couldn’t hold an early lead as Mahanoy Area eventually pulled out a 33-32 Schuylkill League victory.
Ashley Pleban scored seven points in the first quarter as the Fillies enjoyed a 13-8 advantage, but the Golden Bears used five points from Haley Moss in the fourth frame to help gain the narrow win.
Pleban finished with a game-high 10 points, while Kerrigan Digris and Fatikha Tikhtova both chipped in with seven. Allyson Babinsky paced Mahanoy with nine points.
The loss dropped Marian to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.

Brayden Hosier scored 10 of his game-high 15 points in the first quarter as Palmerton raced to a 21-3 lead.
Chase Reph added eight points, and Matt Machalik chipped in with seven as the Bombers improved to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the league.
