Panther Valley Senior Center
The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced the menu for the week of Jan. 3-7 is:
Monday: No meal
Tuesday: kielbasa with sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, Jell-O, or deli sandwich
Wednesday: lemon butter fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, broccoli, pudding or chicken salad
Thursday: pepper soup, open-face pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, roll, fruit crisp, or beef and cheese sandwich
Friday: stuffed cabbage, buttered noodles, peas and carrots, fruit, yogurt or antipasto
The center also announced upcoming events:
Chair Exercise on Jan. 3 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Jan. 4 at 10:45 a.m.; Name That Tune on Jan. 5 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Jan. 6 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-Keeno on Jan. 7 at 11 a.m.
Game Day on Jan. 10 at 10:30 a.m.; Bingo on Jan. 11 at 10:45 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Jan. 12 at 11 a.m.; Birthday Bingo on Jan. 13 at 10:45 a.m.; Crafts on Jan. 14 at 10 a.m.

Hometown Hero banners
The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is still open for 2022.
If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St. Also, if you purchased a banner in 2019, renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner, and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home. The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 2, 2022.
