The office of Coaldale Tax Collector Catherine Papesh will be closed on Dec. 27.

It will reopen on Dec. 28, with hours from 1-6 p.m. Other open hours next week will be Dec. 30, 1-6 p.m., and Dec. 31, 10 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.

The tax collector reminds borough residents who are mailing their payments to her office (P.O. Box 96, 221-223 Third St., Coaldale, PA 18218) that they must be postmarked by Dec. 31 in order for her to accept them.

She also reminds residents that final payments on taxes through the end of the year must be made in cash, money order or a certified bank check. No personal checks will be accepted.

County/municipal and school taxes must also be paid in separate checks.
