A woman was injured Sunday afternoon when involved in a motor vehicle accident along Maury Road in Penn Forest Township.

The crash occurred at 1:30 p.m. as the female was traveling south near the entrance to Penn's Peak. She apparently failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway entering the right berm where her car impacted with and snapped off a utility.

Her car continued on coming to rest back on the roadway. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital. Maury Road was closed for a period of time then opened for alternating traffic.

State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
