December 24, 2012 - The Times News Sports Department names Northwestern’s Haley Yost as its Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Year. The award for the junior runner is her second consecutive, having also won it during her sophomore year. Yost, who missed the first two weeks of the season due to an IT Band Syndrome diagnosis, captures medals at league, districts and states. She places third at both leagues and districts, and turns in a 25th-place finish at the PIAA championships.
