John “Sonny” Kovatch was commended last night by the Nesquehoning Borough Council for making available another winter’s supply of cinders without charge to the community.
Council unanimously agreed to send the local developer-businessman a letter of appreciation on the recommendation of Councilman Earl Johnson.
Johnson, street committee chairman, said Kovatch has shown the same generosity to the borough in the past and saves his hometown between $12,000 and $15,000 annually with his gesture, in addition to helping the borough to maintain safe traveling conditions throughout the town.
