After the Whippets erase a 12-point deficit to tie the game at 53-53, the Colts use a pair of free throws from Greg Chelak and Jim Dennis to take the lead for good. Lenny Kott hits a pair of jumpers down the stretch and Chelak converts a few more free throws to help Marian, coached by Bob Schlosser, end the game on a 7-1 spurt. Chelak tallies a team-high 22 points, while Cas Kosciolek and Dennis both finish with 20. Kott chips in with 10.
