Trainer’s Inn, a Carbon county landmark for decades, burns in this photo from March 18. The structure along Route 209 in Franklin Township was destroyed by a stubborn fire that took firefighters from numerous counties hours to battle. Due to the remote location of the scene, water had to be tanked into the site. The fire was still not under control four hours into the incident. The ruins were demolished in September.
