Panther Valley Senior Center
The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced the menu for the week of Dec. 13-17 is:
Monday: No meal
Tuesday: Barbecue riblet, mac and cheese, vegetable mix, melon or egg salad sandwich
Wednesday: Roast turkey, stuffing, Brussels sprouts, apple crisp or Greek salad with turkey
Thursday: Roast pork, mushroom rice, green beans, orange, cookie or salami sandwich
Friday: Center closed
The center also announced upcoming events: Balloon Tennis on Dec. 16 at 11 a.m.; Christmas Party on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.
Movie and Popcorn on Dec. 20 at 10 a.m.; Surprise Box Bingo on Dec. 21 at 10:45 a.m.; Christmas Karaoke on Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.; Nickel-keeno on Dec. 23 at 11 a.m.; Center closed Dec. 24.
Po-Keeno on Dec. 27 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Dec. 28 at 10:45 a.m.; Games on Dec. 29 at 10 a.m.; Early New Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30 at 10:30 a.m., center closed on Dec. 31.

Hometown Hero banners
The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is now open for 2022.
If you would like to purchase a banner, applications are available at the VFW Post Home at 300 E. Center St. Also if you purchased a banner in 2019, renewal applications were mailed to the sponsor of the banner and the retired banner may be picked up at the post home. The deadline to purchase a new banner or renewal is Jan. 2, 2022.

VFW Christmas party
The Nesquehoning VFW Post 8008 Christmas party will be held at 6 p.m. on Dec. 18. All members are invited. There is a $5 cover. There will be free food, drink specials and a band. Ugly Christmas sweaters are encouraged.
Lansford
Tax collection
Terrance P. McCall, Lansford Borough tax collector, wants to remind all taxpayers that current year bills are due on or before Dec. 31. All borough, county and school (real estate and personal) are due. All tax bills are in the penalty. Please call the office (570-645-0270), if you need to know the amount owed.
