Monroe County crashes

State police at Stroudsburg reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in Monroe County:

• A crash was reported at 11:56 a.m. on Nov. 11 along Route 209 in Hamilton Township. Troopers said Daniel L. Taveras, 23, of Mount Pocono, was driving a 2015 Honda Civic southbound in the right lane while Martin P. Kelly, 58, of Brodheadsville, was driving a 2004 Cadillac CTS northbound in the right lane.

Taveras’ vehicle suddenly drifted into the opposing lane of travel and struck Kelly’s vehicle. The Civic left the road and struck a tree while the Cadillac spun counter-clockwise and went onto the berm and struck a tree.

No injuries were reported. The Cadillac was towed.

Troopers cited Taveras for the crash.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:43 p.m. on Nov. 24 along Interstate 80 in Stroudsburg.

Troopers said Erik Lazo, 25, of Rego Park, New York, driving a 2022 Hyundai Tucson, and Michael J. Scovil, 53, of Kunkletown, driving a 2010 GMC Yukon, were both westbound with Lazo in the left lane and Scovil in the right lane. Lazo then crossed into the right lane and struck Scovil’s vehicle with his. No one was injured.

The Hyundai was towed.

Lazo was cited for the crash.
