MCT is named to banker magazine list
Independent Banker magazine, the award-winning monthly publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America, named Mauch Chunk Trust Co. to its 2021 Best Community Banks to Work For list. The $578 million-asset community bank received accolades for a family-oriented culture with open lines of communication and a competitive benefits package for employees.
“We are honored to be named one of the Best Community Banks to Work For by ICBA Independent Banker magazine,” Mauch Chunk Trust President & CEO Patrick Reilly said.
“Conscious efforts to create an atmosphere for our staff to succeed can be as simple as having the proper lighting and air conditioning to having great systems and software. One employee said that it would be great if we could have our birthdays off and we said, ‘Done.’ That’s one of the benefits of working for a small community bank. When you say something, people actually listen to you so they can make happy employees.”
Mauch Chunk Trust Co. is highlighted in Independent Banker’s December issue representing community banks between $500 million and $750 million in assets. Each self-nominated community bank’s full-time employees were asked to complete a workplace survey hosted by Avannis, an independent research agency. Key criteria considered in selecting this year’s honorees included: work environment, compensation, leadership and corporate culture, and opportunity for recognition and advancement. Shazam sponsored this year’s award. For more information on the winners and methodology, visit independentbanker.com.
“Whether it was encouraging professional development, fostering creative and diverse teams, or providing flexibility and support when needed, the exceptional community banks recognized as our Best Community Banks to Work For went above and beyond to empower employees and keep them engaged and fulfilled,” ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey said. “ICBA is proud to recognize Mauch Chunk Trust Co. and its dedication to its employees and the customers and community they serve.”
