Light coating of snow possible

Area residents who want snow Wednesday will likely be disappointed.

“We’re not expecting a whole lot in terms of snowfall accumulation,” Joe Curtis, a meteorologist with Accuweather said.

He said “just a few flurries” are probable. A slight coating of snow on the grass is possible, although roads will remain clear.

Curtis said the storm track has changed from earlier in the week. Dry air will prohibit most snow from falling. Temps will be above freezing, preventing the precipitation.

However, accuweather.com shows a 76% change of a coating to 1 inch of snow in Tamaqua, 74% in Lehighton and 7 % in Stroudsburg. In another category, little to no snow is possible in Stroudsburg with 81 %, Lehighton at 21 % and Tamaqua at 18%.

Temps are forecast in the 30s Thursday, 40s Friday and the 60s Saturday. Sunday is in the 40s. Rain is possible Saturday and Sunday.
