A 23-year-old Fleetwood, Berks County, man is charged with the rape of a child and numerous other crimes.
Pennsylvania State police at Frackville said Jonathan Garcia committed the offenses in Middleport, Cumbola and Collegeville, Montgomery County.
He is charged with 25 other counts. They include statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and indecent exposure. The offense date is listed as 2013, court documents show, However, the victims say the abuse occurred numerous times.
One of the victims said the abuse began when she was 12 and ended when she was 16 and took place in Middleport and Cumbola. She said it started when Garcia, who was 14 or 15, and they would play “a game” that included where they would touch each other.
Documents state she would tell him to stop but she was afraid of him. He would also hurt her, the affidavit reads. She told her cousin of the abuse because her mother was often on drugs, documents state.
The second victim, who was 6 or 7 years old, said the abuse continued to when she was 11 or 12. It allegedly took place in Cumbola and Collegeville. Garcia was 14 or 15 at the time, she said. He also would tell her they were going to play a game.
She didn’t tell anyone because she feared him, documents show.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Plachko Nov. 18, who set bail at $150,000 straight cash bail. Unable to post, he is in Schuylkill County Prison. A preliminary hearing is set for 12:30 p.m. Dec. 21.
