Santa to arrive in Lehighton Sunday

What would a Christmas tree lighting ceremony be without Santa himself?

Fortunately, children who live in Lehighton won’t have to worry that they’ll only have one without the other thanks to Lehighton’s Christmas with Santa.

The Lehighton Parks and Recreation Board has partnered with the Lehighton Downtown Partnership, an affiliate of the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development Corp. to provide several opportunities for a personal interactive experience with Santa.

The Lehighton Fire Department will bring Santa to the borough by firetruck at 2 p.m. Sunday.

A full day is planned on Constitution Avenue, where there will be food trucks and baked goods.

Upon his arrival, Santa will help decorate the parks and recreation tree at 2 p.m.

From 2 to 5:15 p.m., children can enter to win a bicycle.

A bicycle drawing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Children must be present to win.

There will also be children’s crafts and games from 2 to 6 p.m.

The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m.

Santa plans to remain after the tree lighting ceremony for more photo opportunities.
