The Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board is accepting applications for a $500 social service grant.
The grant is open to all agencies who meet the guidelines of the group's mission statement and who serve any population of Carbon County: "to be an advocate to all populations including children, families, adults, and aging community members. Building upon family values, cultural diversity, social and economic differences, the board will be a forum to reform, educate and coordinate services for the benefit of our community, as well as nurture the positive and combat the negative trends effecting citizens of Carbon County."The one-time grant can be used for existing programs or new programs.For an application, call Mindy Graver, treasurer, at 570-325-2788 or email her at
mjg26@psu.edu. Deadline is April 1.Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of professionals. The grant recipient will be notified the week of April 11 and the presentation of the grant will occur at the seventh annual Human Services Breakfast on April 15 at the Penn Forest Fire Company Number 1's Whispering Pines hall.
