The Lehighton Interfaith Fellowship is coordinating the local CROP Walk on Oct. 12 at the Lehigh Canal Park in Weissport.

Registration is from 1 to 2 p.m., when the walk will begin.A CROP Walk is a community event to raise funds to support hunger programs locally and around the world. Walkers can be family, friends and co-workers who gather sponsors and then walk 1 to 4 miles along the Lehigh Canal.For more information or sponsor forms, call Shirley Radler at 610-377-4278.Twenty-five percent of funds raised will be given to the Trinity Food Pantry, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, which is a satellite of Shepherd House Inc., Carbon County's food distribution system. Last year the food pantry received $964.70 from the CROP Walk.The remainder will go to Church World Services for its ongoing relief programs.
