March 2, 2011 — Gillian Ferko scores a team-high 14 points and pulls down seven rebounds to help lead Marian to a 45-35 victory over Moravian Academy in the semifinal round of the District 11 Class 1A tournament. Ferko hits six free throws during a 15-2 run in the second half that extends a four-point lead to 17. The Fillies, coached by Paul Brutto, also receive eight points and 11 boards from Danielle Tristani, while Kaysi McLaughlin, Corinne Markiewicz and Kelly Shober each chip in with five points.
