Fishing derby held as tribute to Nick Zeigler

Family and friends of the late Nicholas "Nick" Zeigler remembered him by holding a fishing derby and Chinese auction recently at the Rosemount Camping Resort in the Lewistown Valley.

The event, which attracted hundreds of participants and visitors, included homemade food, prizes and various displays. Zeigler, 21, a Tamaqua resident, died after his car left the roadway and struck a PPL utility pole along Catawissa Road, about 100 feet south of Valley Road, in Walker Township.Nick's parents, Jessica and Marlin Zeigler, said proceeds raised from the event will be used to purchase Mr. Nick Cares Bears for Schuylkill County's Children and Youth so that every child that is removed from their homes has something of their own to bring some joy and comfort. They were thankful for Rosemount Camping Resort and everyone who helped or came out in support of Nick. For more information or to donate, call (570) 668-4428 or contact Jessica Zeigler via Facebook.
