The Jim Thorpe Board of Education agreed unanimously last night to discontinue grid relations between its Olympian football team and the Weatherly Wreckers “for at least the next two years” in the aftermath of a game that was recently halted by officials with 8:31 left to play in the third quarter.

The officials said they had to suspend the game due to unsportsmanlike conduct.

The Jim Thorpe board action, however, was not as stringent as mandates imposed by the Weatherly board, which barred the public and cheerleaders from future athletic competition between the two schools, relating to those played at Weatherly, this being in effect for one year.
