Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action on Tuesday:
• Agreed to spend $7,074 for three storm inlets adjacent to the bridge on White Street by the Bowmanstown Diner, to be paid out of the American Rescue Funds.
• Agreed to spend an amount not to exceed $5,700 to remove 10 dead trees along Mill and Spring Street at a cost of $4,100, with hauling of the wood for $800, plus chipping the brush at the borough garage for between $600 to $800.
• Announced the borough is currently advertising for a streets employee.
• Granted permission to wastewater treatment plant operator Chris Bixler to attend the PRWA training “Inflow and Infiltration Toolbox” on Nov. 3, at a cost of $105.
• Concerning Craig Street, announced that Lehigh Asphalt and the Water Authority have executed the hold harmless agreement for use of the Water Authority property on Oak Street during construction; reviewed drainage concept submittal for proposed inlets and reviewed and approved proposed plastic pipe for additional storm sewer to be installed under Craig Street; working with Lehigh Asphalt to obtain proposed work schedule for spring; as well as working on deed descriptions for the properties within the 10-foot strip of land along Craig Street to provide to the borough solicitor.
• Announced that Dave Horst provided training to the borough crew regarding MS-4 on Sept. 10, and that Benesch submitted the 2021 report to DEP by Sept. 30.
• Announced that council will hold budget meetings at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and Nov. 15.
• Announced that trick-or-treat will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 30.
