September 29, 1972 - Ron Carulli’s touchdown run in the third quarter is the game’s only score as Marian posts an 8-0 victory over Hamburg. After a scoreless first half, the Colts get on the board after Stan Kosciolek recovers a botched punt by the Hawks. Two plays after the recovery, Carulli breaks free for his 25-yard talley. Carulli also adds the two-point conversion. Marian’s defense allows just 77 total yards in the contest and the Colts, coached by Joe Bressi, force five turnovers. One of them, an interception by Frank Jachowicz in the end zone, ends a Hamburg scoring threat early in the fourth quarter.
