Carbon County officials announced that Mauch Chunk Lake’s beach will remain closed Saturday for swimming.

The county will reassess the situation regarding if the beach will reopen for Sunday and Monday and a further announcement will be made.

The commissioners closed the beach for swimming on Thursday as a precaution following the heavy rains that came through the area Wednesday.
