Charles C. Snyder, 43, a lifelong resident of West Penn Township, has been named to fill the vacancy on the township board of supervisors created by the death of Curtis Houser.
Snyder was the chairman of the vacancy board and was described by Willis Helfrich as “the fourth man on the board.”
Snyder is a partner in Charles S. Snyder Inc., the Ford tractor dealership in the township. The firm was founded 49 years ago by his grandfather.
The new supervisor is married to the former Jane Troxell, also a West Penn Township native. They are the parents of three children, Cathy, wife of Terry Wehr, Charlene, wife of Scott Coombe, and Charyal, at home, and also have two grandchildren.
