Several Carbon County tax collectors were in attendance at the recent Training for Tax Collectors seminar held Thursday, Aug. 12.
The seminar was approved by the Pennsylvania State Tax Collectors’ Association and presented by the Monroe County Tax Collectors Association.
Various speakers provided information on topics related to tax collectors in performing their duties as elected officials; Pennsylvania Tax Collectors President Sherry Labs gave an update on legislation in process in Harrisburg.
The day concluded with a presentation by state Rep. Jack Rader from the 176th District.
Attendees from Carbon County included Kim Ginopolas of Kidder Township, representing Weatherly and Jim Thorpe school districts); Deborah A. Kohler and deputy tax collector Victoria A. Maguschak of Weatherly Borough, representing Weatherly school district); Mary E. Strohl, Lehighton Borough, covering Lehighton school district; Pauline Homm of Mahoning Township, Lehighton school district, and Thomas N. Beck of East Penn Township, for Lehighton school district.
