The 100th anniversary of the Marion Hose Company, Jim Thorpe, was marked with a big send-off for the weeklong centennial celebration at a dinner held with 175 people in attendance.

Cpl. Stanley Komosinsky, the state police fire marshal at the Hazleton barracks, was the guest speaker at the program held in the company headquarters.

Among those who also spoke were George Hull, company president; William H. Rhodes, centennial chairman; Barbara Meixsell of the Sisters of the Fire Belles; and Mrs. Keith Bennyhoff of the Marion Belles.

The fire company has organized Sisters of the Swish and Brothers of the Brush to aid the frolicking spirit of the anniversary observance which culminate with a six-division parade and fireworks.
