The American Cancer Society has an urgent need for volunteers to fill a few shifts at the Cancer Telethon on Saturday and Sunday at Penn’s Peak. Can you donate a few hours to this worthy cause?

The telethon will be broadcast on local cable stations from noon to midnight Saturday and Sunday.

A highlight of the event is a luminaria service from 8-9:30 p.m. To purchase one or more luminaria bags in advance of the event, visit www.cancertelethon.org/candles to create a luminaria in memory, honor or support of someone who has battled cancer as patient, survivor, caregiver, volunteer or donor.
