Three New Jersey men died as a result of a crash Saturday night at the Route 903 intersection with the turnpike.
State police at Fern Ridge said a 2018 Toyota Camry, driven by Bryan Nissen, 30, of Morris Plains, New Jersey, was traveling north on Route 903 at 8 p.m. and attempted to make a left turn on Route 476 North.
Troopers said a 2010 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Brett Knoll of Jim Thorpe, was traveling south on Route 903. Troopers noted that Knoll was traveling at an unsafe speed.
The Camry pulled in front of the Jeep and the two collided.
Two passengers in the Camry were pronounced dead at the scene by Carbon County Coroner Bob Miller. They were a 30-year-old man from Parlin, New Jersey, and a 25-year-old man from South Amboy, New Jersey. Police did not release their identities. Miller said autopsies will be conducted Monday.
A third passenger in the Camry, a 31-year-old man from Bayonne, New Jersey, was flown to Geisinger, where he died.
Police said Nissen and Knoll were both taken to Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest.
The investigation is continuing.
