State police - DUI cases

Area state police have reported on driving under the influence cases:

• Michale Singles, 38, of Palmerton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance as a result of a traffic stop conducted by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

Police stopped Singles at 11:52 p.m. July 2 at the intersection of Little Gap and Lower Smith Gap roads in Lower Towamensing Township. He was driving a 2010 Kia Forte.

• A Slatington driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 10:46 a.m. on July 22 along Brown Street at Loop Road, in Washington Township.

State police at Bethlehem said Tazaris T. McNair, 22, was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora northbound and attempted to round a left curve, but lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle entered the oncoming lane of travel, continued off the road and onto a residential property. The vehicle continued on the grass of the property and then struck a tree. Upon impact, the Oldsmobile spun clockwise to the west side of the tree, where it stopped. The tree fell over as a result of the impact.

McNair was not injured. He submitted to standard field sobriety tests and was determined to be under the influence, troopers said.

• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a driving under the influence charge in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said a vehicle stop of a 2014 Infiniti was conducted at 8:26 p.m. on July 30 along Route 309 in Lynn Township, for traffic violations. The driver, Philip Grantham, 33, of Barnesville, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and transported to the Lehigh County prison in Allentown for processing.

• A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash that occurred on July 21 at 7:18 p.m. along Panther Valley Road in Wayne Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Ronald J. Reidler, 58, of Pine Grove, was driving a 2020 Kia Sorento when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road near the intersection with Bittles Road. The vehicle went onto the berm and into a ditch, striking a bridge.

Reidler was not injured. Troopers indicated he was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Charges are pending. The vehicle had to be towed.
