King Coal is expected to make a significant comeback under the nation’s thrust to combat the energy crisis, it was indicated yesterday when U.S. Congressman Daniel J. Flood addressed a large gathering of Carbon and Schuylkill residents in Lansford.
Flood, in saying he anticipates a “grand and majestic effort” to revitalize the anthracite coal industry, urged those in attendance to join in the movement to put Panther Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania into the mainstream of economic recovery and, at the same time, return it to the map as the “Hard Coal Capital of the World.”
The address came during a program at the Panther Valley Coal Miner’s Monument in John F. Kennedy Park.
