July 29, 1948 - Lansford pounds out 15 hits, three each from Mark Sibbach and Paul Vitek, to register a 10-5 Panther Valley League victory over Nesquehoning. One of Sibbach’s hits goes for a triple, and he also finishes the contest with three runs scored. Eddie Gildea adds a pair of hits and a run, while Walter Slog contributes a single and a double. Slog also comes on in relief to preserve the win, tossing three shutout innings. Tommy Edwards, the game’s winning pitcher, chips in offensively with a hit and a run.
