Eugene S. Durigan, Lehighton, was named president of the board of directors of the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, during last night’s reorganizational meeting.

Other officers elected on a split vote were Mayor James Walker, Jim Thorpe, first vice president; the Rev. Alton M. Leister, second vice president; Frank Eisenhard, secretary; and James E. Whitehead, treasurer, all of Lehighton.

Walter F. Moyer, Lehighton, was defeated in his bid for re-election as president, as was attorney Murray Mackson, Palmerton, for secretary.

Durigan is also the chairman of the Carbon County Industrial Development Authority.
