Man charged with assaulting wife during argument

A Saylorsburg man has been charged with assaulting his wife during an argument.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by trooper Joseph Campano of the Pennsylvania State Police Lehighton barracks in the case against Charles Diller:

At 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, Campano and trooper Justin Magluilo responded to a home in the 2200 block of Kunkletown Road for a report of a domestic in progress.

Upon arrival, troopers were able to make contact with the victim, who said that she was attacked by her husband, Diller, 36, and the fight lasted all day.

The victim said that Diller attempted to burn her with a blow torch at one point and repeatedly struck her in the head. She also said she lost a tooth during the altercation.

Troopers photographed the victim’s injuries, which included a laceration on the knee and face, as well as a missing tooth.

Diller was not on scene as he fled before police arrived.

Diller faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.

He is currently incarcerated in the Monroe County Prison in lieu of $50,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing July 30 before District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.
