Fern Ridge State police report on charges

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following arrests made by troopers:

Jose Sosa, 47, of East Stroudsburg, is facing theft and related charges following an incident that occurred at 10:45 a.m. on June 11 at the UniMart service station located at Weir Lake Road and Route 209, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Sosa was seen in the mart taking the wallet of a 23-year-old man from Saylorsburg. Charges have been filed.

• On July 3 at 5:51 p.m. troopers were dispatched to a residence along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township for a domestic dispute. Police said Christopher Blanchard, 41, of Albrightsville, had been annoying a 35-year-old woman and refusing to let her leave the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant causing a scene and scaring off customers.

Troopers said appropriate charges, including harassment, were filed against Blanchard.

• On July 2 at 2:25 p.m. along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township, a 26-year-old man from Jim Thorpe, who troopers declined to identify, punched a 24-year-old woman from Lehighton, in the face several times and pushed her out of a moving vehicle while in traffic.

The victim showed apparent minor injuries to her face but refused medical treatment. The man was charged after turning himself into at the barracks a short time later. He is facing simple assault and related counts.

• On June 28 at 3:02 p.m. troopers responded to a residence at Milton Court, Jackson Township, Monroe County, for a reported harassment. During the investigation it was discovered that a 32-year-old man from Stroudsburg, who troopers declined to identify, had threatened to kill a 41-year-old man from Saylorsburg. As a result the Stroudsburg man was charged with terroristic threats and harassment.
