A Jim Thorpe man and his son were recently bestowed awards by the Diocese of Allentown for their work in Scouting.

William J. Kattner Sr. was given the Bishop’s Award which was instituted to recognize the contributions of adult leaders in the spiritual aspects of the scouting program within the Catholic Church, while his son, William Jr., received the Ad Altare Dei Award, which comes from a program to equip the Scout to take his place in the world as a maturing Catholic and American.

They are members of St. Joseph’s Parish, Jim Thorpe, and are affiliated with Boy Scout Troop 636.
