Schuylkill County commissioners on Wednesday approved two contracts aimed at keeping residents safer.
They signed a renewal agreement on behalf of the county 911 center with Essentials Management Solutions of Pottsville for a general consulting support service at $12,260 per month and project management services at $7,000 per month.The cost is the same as last year. The agreement is for 12 months beginning July 1.The second contract was on behalf of the Emergency Management Agency.It is a training agreement with PAE, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, for $39,388 to provide the task force with bomb squad training.Commissioners also approved a contract addendum with Delta Development of Mechanicsburg.The agreement renews a $35,000 maintenance and support contract by one year, from July 1, to June 30, 2018.The services are paid for through a Homeland Security grant.In another security move, commissioners agreed, on behalf of county retirement board, to hire Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check LLP to provide securities portfolio monitoring at no cost to the county.Under the agreement, the firm complete and file all proofs of claim and releases necessary to process claims to which the county is entitled for securities class action settlements.The firm will notify the county of any claim it is entitled to, and file any claims within the claim filing period.It also will monitor and report the county's recovery, including the amount recovered for each claim.
