Carbon County Controller John Williams has announced the appointment of Leonard Alabovitz, Summit Hill, as an auditor in his office in the courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

His salary is $7,946 a year.

Alabovitz, mayor of Summit Hill who formerly served as director of the county’s Tax Claim Bureau and Recorder of Deeds, succeeds to the position made vacant by the resignation of Emil Suarez, Palmerton, a number of months ago.

Williams announced the appointment in a letter to the county commissioners yesterday.
