Local Roundup: Results from June 7

Franklin Township no-hit Stroudsburg in a Lehigh Valley Connie Mack game on Monday.

In Schuylkill Teener League action, Valley Athletic defeated Hope’s Collision.

Ian Rarick and Adam Bastone combined on a no-hitter as Franklin Township gained a 6-0 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack League victory over Stroudsburg.

Rarick pitched the first six innings, walking four and striking out five, while Bastone finished things off with a perfect seventh, fanning two in the process.

Franklin’s offense scored all its runs in the fourth inning, with Rarick delivering a two-run triple. Michael Yeakel and Carter Birnbaum also had RBI singles in the frame, and Bastone added a hit and run scored.

The win evened Franklin Township’s record at 3-3.

South Parkland-

Jim Thorpe

South Parkland used two big innings to help earn a 12-2 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack League victory over Jim Thorpe.

The winners opened the game with a four-run first inning and sealed the contest with a seven-run fourth frame.

Michael Glick had three hits for South Parkland, while Thomas Houser added two hits and knocked in three runs.

For Thorpe, which dropped to 1-2, Ian Heckels had an RBI triple and scored a run. Owen Hubbard also added a pair of hits.

Hope’s Collision-

Valley Athletic

Valley Athletic pounded out 17 hits, which led to a 10-2 Schuylkill Teener League Senior Division victory over Hope’s Collision.

Gabe Coleman paced the winners with four of those hits, while Scott Case finished with three hits and two runs.

Nathan Fannock and Will Ross both contributed three hits and a run, with Ryan Vecolitis adding a pair of hits and two runs. Chase Andrews walked three times and scored three runs.

Vecolitis went the distance on the mound, walking two and striking out five.

For Hope’s, Declan Coleman collected three hits, and Denny Krell and Jason Walker each finished with two hits and a run scored.
