Sacred Heart Parish, Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton will celebrate our Saturday Vigil Mass on June 5 at 5 p.m. and Sunday Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. June 6. Please note, seating restrictions have been lifted.
Tape has been removed from pews to allow seating anywhere in the church, including the cry room.
Masks are only required of those who are not fully vaccinated. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as being two weeks after receiving the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Confessions continue to be available by appointment only. Please call Father Bill to schedule a time.
This weekend we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi (The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.) The readings remind us that the Old Testament animal sacrifices have been replaced by the offering of the Body and Blood of Jesus, which is celebrated at every Mass.
This coming Friday is our Patron Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On June 11 all parishioners are asked to be present sometime during the day as we honor our patron. The day will begin with 9 a.m. prayer within Mass. This will conclude with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until our 6 p.m. closing. At 6 p.m. we will have solemn evening prayer and benediction and we encourage all Eucharistic Ministers to make an extra effort to join in the closing.
St. John Neumann will hold its eighth-grade graduation on June 9 at 4:30 p.m. Father Campion will be the celebrant; Father Arnout, concelebrant; and Father Sedar will be the Homilist. All are welcome to join us.
The Men of Sacred Heart will meet on June 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Parish Center. All men 18 and older are invited to join us.
The Finance Committee welcomes Martin DeSousa as a newly appointed member on its committee and the Safety/Security Committee added maintenance to their agenda and welcomed Frank Hager and Dan Podorsky as their newest members.

Father Bill continues to ask for prayers, through the intercession of Father Walter Ciszek, whose cause for canonization to Sainthood is under study, that God will bless us with a cure for COVID-19 and restore the physical, spiritual, emotional and financial health to our global family.
